Best extra virgin olive oils in the world 2022

EVOOLEUM TOP 100 presents every year the 100 best extra virgin olive oils in the world and this year we find in the top 10 four Spanish oils, five Italian oils and one oil produced in Croatia -the Monte Rosso Grand Selection-. The list also includes oils from the provinces of Almería, Granada, Seville, Córdoba, Málaga and Jaén, the latter with 24 award-winning oils.

This year, Spain heads the ranking of the prestigious EVOOLEUM Guide 2022 with the extra virgin olive oil Olibaeza Patrimonio Dorado. For the first time, the best oil in the world, with a score of 97 out of 100, is produced by a cooperative - Cooperativa El Alcázar - which was founded in Baeza (Jaén) in 1951. 

In total, 800 oil brands from 20 countries have presented their liquid gold. Among them are oils from Spain, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, the United States, Morocco, Slovenia and Argentina. The varieties with which they are made are very diverse, such as the Spanish picual, hojiblanca, cornicabra, arbequina, pajarera, picuda or pico limón; the Italian coratina, frantoio, bosana or dritta; the Greek koroneiki or tsounati; the Moroccan picholine; or the Croatian bianchera istriana.
