Picual oil prices
Early harvest extra virgin olive oil is a unique oil. Their price is higher due to the complexity of its collection which is in turn more expensive than an oil that has been obtained from more mature olives. To produce an early harvest olive oil, about 12 kilos of olives are needed compared to normal extra virgin olive oil, which requires around 4 kilos of olives. This makes early harvest extra virgin olive oil more expensive. If we add to this a poor harvest due to weather conditions, the production of olives falls and the price rises.
